The sci-fi feature brings back Casper Van Dien to the franchise and co-stars “Star Trek: Enterprise” alum Jolene Blalock as the hard-as-nails Captain Lola Beck. Look for it sometime this year on DVD.

Don’t Cancel Jericho Plead Stars

The following story contains possible spoilers for the 2nd season of Jericho, so if do not wish to learn about future plotlines for the post apocalyptic TV show please read no further.

At first they took his sister, now it looks like they could well take his show away for a second time.

Brad Beyer won the hearts and minds of many fans as farm owner stanly Richmond in the struggling CBS show Jericho revealed that he’d like to try and remain optimistic about the shows future on the Network.

“We’re hoping that the ratings will go up and we’ll have a reason to be picked up,” Beyer told TV Guide. “This has been one of the best experiences of my career. Our show got rave reviews; people don’t really write things like that very often. It’s a shame that hasn’t yet transferred into higher numbers for us.”

Since its return to the CBS Schedule after the first cancellation of the series, Jericho has been very hit and miss with the ratings. Back in 2006 when the series premiered with its first season the ratings were massive, every indication was tha the show would be a hit. Until the season premier of American Idol that was, which is when the ratings hit the floor, and prompted CBS to axe the show. However CBS were forced to reconsider the cancellation of the series thanks to a massive fan campaign which drove them literally NUTs.

However since the shows return to the Network it hasn’t really lived up to the Networks expectations and remains on the bubble in terms of it having any future on US Television.

Over the last year fans have been trying to tell CBS to consider alternate means of distribution for the struggling series. One such method being the Internet which has a potential audience of 700,000 who veiwed the premier of the second series when it premiered.

However it will take more than 700,000 internet viewers to save Jericho from the axe.

“I don’t think our show’s success can really be measured by just the Nielsen ratings,” he said. “People are watching it on TiVo, online, and they’re downloading it, too. You really need to add another million [viewers] to our numbers.”

Beyer revealed that he had somewhat of a tough time saying goodbye to Shoshannah Stern, who played his deaf sister Bonnie on the show. Bonnie as many fans will already know was killed off during a shoot out at the Richmond farm in last week’s episode.

“She’s amazingly talented,” Beyer said. “I thought the relationship between Stanley and Bonnie was one of the show’s strongest. I had very mixed feelings about [losing Bonnie]. It’s a definite loss to the show.”

‘Jericho’ airs its fifth episode March 11 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS, and Beyer said until they hear something official from the network, they will always hold out hope that these handful of episodes won’t be the last time viewers get to visit the little town that could in Kansas.

“We’re all cautiously optimistic,” he said. “But at the same time, there’s the reality of the situation. It would be frustrating to be canceled twice.”

Star Trek Series Online for Free

CBS has made available the entire run of the original Star Trek series (1966 - 1969) online for free as part of their new Audience Network. Every episode is here, uncut.

If you are patiently waiting for JJ Abrams version to be released next year, this is a great way to kill some time. If you are a Trekkie (or Trekker, whatever) this is a gold mine.

They also have the first two seasons of the Twilight Zone and the first season of Hawaii 5-0, MacGyver and Melrose Place.

“Knight Rider”

Did you know about Knight Rider supercar 2008? I never heard about that, until yesterday, I must confess. It’s a NBC project, and two-hour movie. But as soon as I know about it…well let’s just say that I see the pilot yesterday :D Yes, “Knight Rider”: the NBC’s iconic 1980s television classic that became a runaway success. They bring back to life with an updated sequel and in the cast there is David Hasselhoff also…unbelievable. The car is obviously a Ford Mustang GT500K, here it is:

as known KITT, version Kitt Attack…really superfast.
NBC also has an arrangement with Ford Motor Company that provides for a unique content opportunity that makes the Ford

Mustang one of the stars of the movie. The three cars to be employed in the series include the KITT Hero — a Ford Mustang

Shelby GT500KR that is playing the part of the everyday Hero car with 540 horsepower; the KITT Attack — a super high-speed

version of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR Hero car that transforms into Attack mode with the help of air-ride technology and

specialized body parts — and a KITT Remote, which is a driverless Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR version of the Hero vehicle.

I don’t tell about the movie further because I don’t like read spoiler about tv series so I don’t make it.
All I can say it’s that Deanna Russo (”NCIS,” “The Young and the Restless”)..well she’s gorgeous. :D
As a pilot for a TV series, it stacks up much better.
All in all, there were some good effects, a little action, a few chuckles, and some nice nods to the past. Let’s see where they take it if and when it goes to series.

Firefly Season 2

However, there’s a catch. The people trying to bring it back are an independent production company not related to Fox or Universal Studios.

In addition to that, the effort is not to bring the show back to Fox, but to the internet. Personally, I think it’s a fantastic idea, as long as they can make it happen. And it’s not an easy task they’ve set for themselves. First off, they have to get the rights from the current owners whoever that may be (Universal, Whedon, etc.?). Then if, and that’s a pretty big if, they can do that, they have to try to reassemble the cast. The show has been off the air for three years. Actors move on. For instance, Nation Fillion (Mal) is now on Desperate Housewives; Gina Torres (Zoe) has had many different roles since Firefly. When Morena Baccarin (Inara) is not filming her regular role on Heartland, She’s working on things like Stargate, and is rumored to be the next Wonder Woman.

And although these sorts of scenarios are common for the rest of the Firefly’s intrepid crew, let’s not forget Summer Glau (River), who is now one of the lead actors on the hottest sci-fi show currently on the air, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Getting the entire cast back together would be nothing short of miraculous. But if they could… Oh, if they could. Firefly was one of those shows like Earth 2, Star Trek: Enterprise and others which died long before they should have. Successfully bringing this show back would not only be great for Firefly’s fans, it would set an important precedent. No longer would fans be fully dependent on the typically foolish whims of shortsighted network executives.

Moonlight’ In Serious Trouble With Network

CBS was very quick to release a list of more than a dozen programs that will return next fall on the network. However, there was one very obvious absence: “Moonlight.”

Of course, the list of shows CBS released is not the final list of renewed programs, and the rest of the season, as well as what the network has in the pike in terms of pilot, will play into later renewals, so it doesn’t mean “Moonlight” won’t get renewed. But it’s absence is forcing some hard questions to be asked on whether or not its ratings are enough.

Networks sometimes save the decision for some programs until after the seasons are over, or toward the end of seasons. For example, the network isn’t expected to make a final decision on whether it will give “Jericho” a third season until March at the earliest, and “Moonlight” could be a show that is either on the bubble, or simply not announced yet.
“Moonlight” premiered on CBS with an overnight rating of a 5.8/11 share, which wasn’t tremendously strong in terms of genre shows — in fact, only “Jericho,” “Smallville” and “Supernatural” had lower rated premieres this season — but unlike some of its counterparts, “Moonlight” was able to hold on to its audience. While “Bionic Woman” and “Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles” have lost more than half their respective premiere audiences (with “Sarah Connor” getting a reprieve because its premiere was a bit over-inflated), “Moonlight” has in fact held on to its core audience. The show’s lowest rating came in its third week, which was just a little more than one ratings point below its premiere, and its most recent episode aired more than a month ago was off its premiere by just half a ratings point, or just 10 percent. By comparison, “Heroes” had a two ratings point different between its highest overnight and lowest overnight rating, and its final episode so far this season was nearly 19 percent below its high. “Moonlight” has suffered some problems in the production side with showrunner David Greenwalt departing early. Also, the show — which bridged “Ghost Whisperer” and “Numbers” on Friday nights — was the evening’s lowest-rated show for the network, although it did fare well against competition from other networks in its timeslot.Sources say that no official decision on the fate of “Moonlight” has been made just yet, so no need to get too much into panic mode. There’s a chance fans will learn the fate of “Jericho” before they learn what happens to “Moonlight,” so it will just be a matter of patience.
